The Ettori bridge

Ponte Ettori

The Ettori bridge which originally had five arches, allowed the crossing of the river Temo, on the border of the municipal territory of Villanova Monteleone in the locality of "Badu de Thori".

Taramelli writes that "from the ruined Ettori or Dettori bridge along a mule track that heads towards Romana, you notice traces of edges and paving that give the idea of a Roman road connecting Bosa with the central road Caralis-Turris, reaching it in Bonorva or south of it".

The road of which the expert speaks is still known as "Su Caminu de su Aligheresu", indicating the direction towards Carbia.

Of the bridge two of the five original arches have been preserved. A series of repairs and reconstructions are clearly visible and witness the use of the bridge in The Middle Ages or afterwards.
