On the hill of San Paolo a strong wall, of which five metres of height remain, is still in a very good state of preservation.
The wall encircles the highest plateau of the hill and still today turns it into a solid system of terracing. The structure has been made in polygonal work (opus siliceum) through the arranging of basalt blocks of a regular polygonal shape with a polished front and fitting sides.
The structures that probably can be traced back to a phase of Roman time have been used uninterruptedly until post Medieval time, when it came into function as foundation for the ring wall for the small castle, which was the construction of the Baron's palace.
